It was great seeing many of you at NamesCon last week. About a thousand people registered for this year's event and a whopping 40% of registrants attended for the first time. That's a surprisingly high number.

Overall, there was a bit more enthusiasm in the air compared to a year ago. I can't nail down exactly what it is, but overall I think domainers had a good 2018 and are projecting that forward.

NamesCon organizers announced that next year's event will be in Austin. It's a bit ironic for me since I'm getting ready to move from Austin after over two decades here.

Moving the conference out of Vegas is a risk, but I understand why the conference thinks it's time to shake things up. I'm excited for NamesCon 2020.

One final thing before we recap last month's top stories and podcasts...I have only a couple of ad spots open right now on DNW. Reach out if you'd like to learn more.

Now let's review the top stories on DNW last month, as ranked by pageviews:

2. Great domain investing data from Paul Nicks (GoDaddy) at NamesCon - Paul Nicks digs into domain investment approaches and returns.

3. Prince's estate settles Prince.com fight with Domain Capital - It looks like Prince's estate will get Prince.com in return for cash.

4. "Domain Name" is a pay-to-play search term on Google - There are no organic results (other than Wikipedia) above the fold.
