| October's Top Stories
With the clocks set back in the United States, cooler weather arriving and leaves changing colors, it's a sure sign we're headed into the busy time of year.
Here's a look back at the top stories on Domain Name Wire from last month.
1. The Adam Dicker Saga - One of the bigger personalities in the domain name industry had his comeuppance last month. Many of Adam Dicker's revenue and prowess claims were called into question, people said they were ripped off by him, and apparently he was running low on money. A lawyer acting on behalf of Dicker sent a letter to people who posted things on a massive NamePros thread, asking them to remove the comments. This one isn't over yet.
2. A Massive Malware/Phishing Attack - If you own a domain name, odds are you received an email over the past week telling you it had been suspended. The sender wants you to click a link to download...malware.
3. Judge sides with .XYZ - A U.S. District Judge granted XYZ's motion for summary judgment, dealing a blow to Verisign. Verisign had sued XYZ over false advertising claims.
4. Amazon AWS Crystal Ball - Domain Name Wire scooped Amazon.com's product names for new AWS services.
5. Cambridge is not so scholarly. University of Cambridge lost a UDRP for Cambridge.com, then withdrew a trademark challenge against the domain name owner.
