November's Top 5 Stories

November was a super-busy month here on Domain Name Wire. The DNW Podcast had a bunch of great shows, one of my stories hit the mainstream press, and we learned that a big domain name company exchanged hands for $44.9 million.

Here's a look back at the past month in the domain name business.

1. Michael Bloomberg's hilarious .NYC domain name registrations - the top story of last month made it all the way to  the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, and Last Week Tonight. Read about Michael Bloomberg's funny .nyc domain names.

2. John Oliver's five .NYC domain names making fun of Michael Bloomberg - the aforementioned Last Week Tonight pickup.

3. Why Endurance bought BuyDomains, and why the price might make sense - publicly traded Endurance paid $44.9 million to acquire BuyDomains. Here's why.

4. What do Amazon and Google domain name losses mean for new TLDs? Amazon.com and Google are losing some of the new TLD contention sets they're in. What do their losses mean for new TLDs in general?

5. IDN.com owners will lose big if Verisign doesn't get its way - they might be forced to pay up for IDN.IDN equivalents within a limited time frame.

Be sure to stop by Domain Name Wire in December for all of the latest news!
